Last Friday, I had the opportunity to give a live interview on Macedonian Television's "Good Morning Macedonia" (Dobro Utro Makedonijo) about my interest and research in Macedonian music. It was quite the experience in the retro Macedonian Television studio, as I performed on the saxophone and the kaval during the interview, and got to speak for 20-30 minutes about my work with Ilija Grujoski, the co-host of the show and a dear friend of mine. I'll post some photos from the interview as soon as I get them, and I hope to have the video posted soon as well. Let's just say that, as an American, playing Macedonian traditional songs and instruments on national television was a bit humbling--quite an honor from Ilija and Macedonian television to have me on to introduce myself and my pursuits in learning about music in Macedonia.
