Dave Wilson is a musician who makes music relying not just on the breadth of his skills, but also on the depth of his talent. Whether in his writing or in his saxophone, piano, or woodwind playing, he creates music that is accessible without sacrificing sophistication or meaning. With influences as diverse as Stan Getz, the Beatles, and Radiohead, his music is always sure to be captivating, passionate, and hopeful. Based in Los Angeles, Dave is an active contributor to the music scene in its many facets. Born and raised in Chicago, Dave studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under David Baker. Following that, he did a two-year stint in Macedonia, where he developed a love for Balkan music, collaborating with local jazz and folk musicians in the studio and in live settings at festivals and other performances. Currently, Dave can be seen performing around the world with Engelbert Humperdinck and throughout LA with local artists from the pop, rock, world music, and jazz genres. He recently released an EP, his first as a solo artist, and has recently worked with Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics), James Torme, and upstart French singer-songwriter Jessica Fichot. |
